The studies focus on the creation of games. The main emphasis is on game graphics and animation as well as the development of gamification using game engines. In addition, students will gain good knowledge of various animation methods, writing screenplays and sound design. The studies include a minimum of 40 competence points in on-the-job apprenticeship in the field.
The first year’s studies are run jointly with the degree programme in media production. The specialisation in animation and game development is selected in the spring of the first school year.
Graduates are eligible for further studies, which means that you can apply for a place at a university or a university of applied sciences of your choice.

Graduates are employed by game development companies, animation studios, media agencies and advertising agencies, for example.

Tuition is offered in Finnish. A language test will be organised for non-native speakers of Finnish who have no other certification of their Finnish skills. The objective of the national language test is to verify that the applicant has sufficient written and spoken language skills in order to complete his or her studies.
